The Sacred Journey
A Mentoring Journey through the 10 Moons of Pregnancy
“To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and distressingly inhabited. Soul and spirit are stretched – along with body – making pregnancy a time of transition, growth, and profound beginnings.”
- Anne Christian Buchanan
We were never meant to do this alone.
Throughout history, women have been supported by other women in their communities as they navigated powerful thresholds, including pregnancy. This village of support and wisdom-sharing through the childbearing year is all but absent in modern societies. Modern-day women have been disconnected from their intuitive wisdom since before birth, yet it’s precisely that knowing that is required to navigate the journey through birth.
The Sacred Journey is an opportunity to awaken to and reclaim this wisdom.
As a transformational coach, a practitioner of traditional postpartum support modalities and herbal medicine, and an embodiment practitioner, I work with women and those who are pregnant to prepare holistically for birth and matrescence, the transition into motherhood.

A Map for the Sacred Journey

Birth is a profound rite of passage during which the one giving birth encounters mystery, uncertainty, and even a loss of control. The map of the journey is not one that is linear and easily understandable by the intellectual brain. Rather, it a labyrinth comprised of a series of unexpected turns, countless inner thresholds, and unforeseen hurdles. The birthing person is pushed beyond their perceived edges into previously uncharted territory. And yet, as daunting as the task of doing The One Forbidden Thing may seem, the labyrinth - your inner map through your birthing time - shows you the way to continue forward, to keep going, until it is time to return ‘home’.
There are many who choose not to take the journey described above. But if you are here, I will be so bold as to suggest that something within you called you here. There is a voice within you, calling you, from the centre of your heart and from the depth of your belly. It is an invitation from your soul to do something that you have never before, that perhaps you have avoided, or because the challenge it presents seems overwhelming. And no matter what you do - turn away, sleep it off - The Call only gets louder and louder until you have no other choice but to do The Next Right Thing. You pack your bags, and you start your journey.
Journeys of transformation can be undertaken alone. Indeed, you will need to do the work to scale the mountains, cross the bridges, and negotiate the items you initially placed in your backpack. Most would agree, however, that for a journey like this one, it is helpful to have a soul guide of sorts - someone who has walked the road many times with others, shining the torch on the path under your feet and just ahead, and helping you to live the answer to your Heart’s Question.
This is why I created The Sacred Journey: a mentoring relationship through the 10 moons of pregnancy, where I support you to cultivate inner knowing, take on the tasks of preparation, nourish the life growing within you, and grow into the adult archetypes of the Huntress, The Love Warrior, and The Mother.
Together, we will explore both the external and internal preparations that must be undertaken as part of your journey of transformative growth and self-discovery. Using the foundational understanding of The Three Ways of Knowing, as elucidated by Pam England in Ancient Map to Modern Birth, we will locate and nurture the point of balance between internal knowledge (intuition) and external knowledge (evidence-based research) where you have equal access to both.
We will explore maps of labour pain and laborland, stalk paper tigers on birth tiger safaris, develop ceremonies of celebration as you prepare for your rites of passage, cultivate your archetypal Huntress and Birth Warrior, and more.

The Sacred Journey is a bespoke mentoring journey through pregnancy. Together, we explore your own Heart’s Question and how to move through your pregnancy from a place of love and conscious intention. This is realised through twice-monthly visits, either in-person or remotely, in addition to custom additional offerings such as flower essences and healing bundles with herbs and crystals.
The Sacred Journey incorporates ritual, myth, energy work, and embodiment practices as tools for inner discovery. It is both preparation and a journey its own right. Ideally, initiates enter as early in pregnancy as possible, although the journey can begin at any point. The earlier the work begins, however, the more time there is for exploration and integration.
